ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
The Zoning Board of Appeals considers applications for variances from the Village Zoning Laws.
Under the NYS statute, it weighs the benefits against the cost and detriments to the community of any waiver or
modification granted as relief from the specific strictures of Village Law. The ZBA meets as needed at the
AHRC, 189 Wheatley Rd. or at Brookville Reform Church, 2 Brookville Rd.

PLANNING BOARD
The Village Planning Board ensures that future land use and development within the Village all harmonize
with the existing conditions and accommodations within our community. The Board safeguards the comfort
and convenience of our residents by providing that future development will never compromise
the unique character of the Village of Brookville.

ARB
The Architectural Review Board (ARB) considers, and approves or denies, applications for new construction
and alterations of existing properties. Their job is to maintain and enhance property values by respecting the
historical integrity of the appearance of our Village and to ensure that any changes are
compatible with and well integrated into the established aesthetic of the Village of Brookville.
The ARB has the same members as the Planning Board.
ETHICS BOARD
The Village Ethics Board appointed by the Board of Trustees and serve without compensation.
The Board of Ethics shall have the powers and duties prescribed by Article 18 of the
General Municipal Law and shall render advisory opinions to the officers and employees
of the Village with respect to Article 18 of the GML and to this Code of Ethics.

WORKPLACE HARASSMENT BOARD
The Village Sexual Harassment Board appointed by the Board of Trustees and serve without compensation.
The Board of Sexual Harassment shall have the powers and duties stated
in the Workplace Harassment policy of the Village.
